SMO Gold

Every ounce of SMO (Single mine origin) gold can be traced to specific mines, selected because they are accredited with the highest responsibility standards whilst also providing vital social, environmental and cultural support to the communities they operate in.

The SMO QR code you receive demonstrates to all customers the journey their gold takes, where is was mined and the positive impact it makes along the way.

TRACE YOUR METAL BY VISITING SINGLEMINEORIGIN.COM

WHAT IS SMO?

SMO Stands for Single Mine Origin. This is an initiative to bring fully traceable, responsibly sourced metal to the jewellery and investment markets in a way that is both affordable and scalable. Single Mine Origin metal is kept segregated from any other material throughout the supply chain and is sourced from mines which are independently audited to operate to international best practice.

DO YOU HAVE ALL ALLOYS AND COLOURS IN SMO?

There are a comprehensive range of SMO alloys available already. Custom alloys can also be manufactured in line with customers’ precise requirements. We currently offer 18ct yellow, 18ct rose and 18ct white gold.

CAN I SEE WHERE MY SMO GOLD COMES FROM?

Yes, you can just scan the QR code or go to the website for full details. SMO code is sold with a batch code and associated QR code. Because all SMO gold can be traced to a single, responsibly operated mine, consumers have the ability to see exactly where their gold came from and learn more about the social and environmental initiatives taking place around the mine.

CAN SMO BE HALLMARKED?

It can. All the UK assay offices can apply with SMO hallmark to registered users.
